187. Siberian Chill
...in Britain
Description
I love the cold.
Really, I do. Especially when it snows - everytime snow comes down it's such a simple childish joy to me. That's where this came from, enjoying the snow as a child. Of course my hair was a bit shorter when I was a child, and I wasn't a girl at all — ok, so that isn't even meant to represent me, but rather the innocent joy of snow.
This came from a really cold week in Britain. we had Siberian winds coming in from the north and it was just damned cold. But like I said, I enjoyed it. I saw a woman one evening whilst walking home in a bright red coat similar to the one shown and that was the start of this piece. The blonde little girl is based upon a special somone close to me.
Quick and simple, I just really wanted to draw a pretty face in the snow. I'm really glad how the lower portrait came out in particular. Makes a change!

Aw, thanks for the goodbye message :)
Liking the use of a comic-style split. This one's just a little bit creepy, she's quite ghostly.
The snow makes me think of the Surface level on Goldeneye, not sure why, maybe something to do with the fog.

Really peaceful shot - but also kind of sinister!! I love it. The snow in the UK has been pretty crazy huh?
