Black and white speed paint of Ryu

Description

This is a speed-paint of Ryu, I had a simple idea in my head that had to get out. It was originally going to be Akuma, but then I've always preferred Evil Ryu, so it went down that route. As it came towards the end I took out all Evil Ryu elements to the piece as it just didn't need them - Ryu's damn cool as he is.

I decided to make it black and white with the red headband because of the special colour-creation modes on Capcom vs SNK. I always made Evil Ryu all black apart from the reds showing out - his eyes and headband were the only visible part to him. So the headband element stayed in here. The colours were also semi inspired by the fantastic photo mode on the Project Gotham Racing series (see inspiration).

Now, as for Street Fighter 4 - what do we think so far? I'm playing the 'wait and see' card.

I'm liking the depth of field - the headband really leaps out of the screen!

...what are the little yawning faces in the PGR car lights?

Awesome portrait of the ultimate badass evil( next to Akuma) :) I'm pretty curious about Street Fighter 4 aswell.. from the looks of it, it's turning out to be pretty cool in the feel of the old series (Super Turbo 2) rather than the alpha. Might be worth checking out if I get a ps3 in the nearby future ;) cheers!

Bril. He looks naked... nothing wrong with that! I'm not supposed to say this... but yeah I played an early version of Street Fighter 4 a couple months ago. It was pretty good but nothing special, it felt a lot like Super Turbo. That could be a good thing, but a bit of a cop-out, good for old-school fans but nothing new. I don't think the mainstream is going to like it much, also it's taking too long to come out; the hype is starting to take a negative effect. Personally I don't like the art style, at first it looks like classic Street fighter 2, but after a while I started hating it; they're all super pumped-up steroid hoppers. Street Fighter 3 still looks nicer and more modern, even though it's over 10 years old!
