158. Dreamcast

Orange Swirl, Blue Swirl
A large montage of famous Dreamcast characters

Description

The mammoth Dreamcast picture!
First and foremost, this was created for use in an online magazine, play.d. Be sure to check it out. I've been working with them providing illustrations for use within the magazine. The first month I made a few bits and pieces and this month I've been lucky enough to do the cover illustration!

They requested a Dreamcast montage of characters with the specification of "colourful". It took quite some time due to amount of characters, but it was great fun. Seeing the final picture I wish I did a few things differently such as the sizes of the background characters (Ryu is way too small) but happy with the outcome.

For those who aren't familiar with the characters I've made up a Sgt. Peppers style chart of all of the characters and their respective games.
It may be of use to you to have the 2D Forever Dictionary open!

The Dreamcast is Sega's last console before they reverted back to a games company. Although outdated now, it's still my favourite console - considered by many as a highly underrated console... my Dreamcast is still used regularly - I get bored of the Xbox 360 games so quickly.

Great picture! Is it possible to get a hi-res version of it? I'm a big fan of Dreamcast and it's games. A great thing to play with 4 players on house parties. :) I'd print it on a poster and hang it behind the gaming monitor(Dreamcast has VGA out). ;)
